Scope of These Terms

These Terms apply to the StartSmall iOS app, the StartSmall website, backend sync services, app content, support communications, and any paid or free features we make available.

If you download StartSmall through the App Store, your use of the app is also subject to Apple's App Store, Apple Media Services, and licensed application terms. These Terms govern your relationship with NotA Robot OÜ to the extent they do not conflict with mandatory Apple terms or applicable law.

What StartSmall Provides

StartSmall helps users practice small, guided real-world social confidence missions. The app may include onboarding, mission recommendations, scripted guidance, daily practice flow, progress tracking, reminders, optional account sync, and paid features.

The app is designed for lightweight practice and self-reflection. It does not guarantee confidence, social outcomes, relationship outcomes, employment outcomes, or any response from another person.

Not Medical or Crisis Support

StartSmall is not medical care, therapy, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or professional mental health advice. The app is not a substitute for a qualified professional.

If you feel unsafe, may harm yourself or someone else, or need urgent help, contact local emergency services, a crisis hotline, or a qualified professional immediately.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use StartSmall. If the laws where you live require a higher minimum age or parental consent to use online services, you must meet that requirement before using the app.

If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use StartSmall only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Accounts and Sign in with Apple

StartSmall may automatically create an internal anonymous account so the app can keep a stable user record and local progress state. Where available, you may link your account with Sign in with Apple to restore or sync progress across devices.

You are responsible for maintaining access to your device, Apple Account, and any authentication method you use. We are not responsible for loss of data caused by device loss, deletion of the app, operating system changes, Apple account changes, expired sessions, or actions outside our control.

You may stop using StartSmall at any time. You may also request deletion of your StartSmall account or synced app data as described in the Privacy Policy.

App License

Subject to these Terms and any applicable App Store terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use StartSmall on Apple-branded devices that you own or control and as permitted by Apple platform usage rules.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, attempt to derive source code from, or create derivative works from StartSmall except where applicable law expressly allows it.

Purchases and Subscriptions

StartSmall may offer paid features or subscriptions, including monthly or annual access. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, billing, taxes, payment details, and refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Subscription terms, prices, renewal periods, trial details, and cancellation instructions are shown before purchase in the App Store purchase flow. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account settings before the renewal deadline set by Apple.

Deleting the app or deleting your StartSmall account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. You must manage or cancel the subscription through Apple.

We may use Apple and a purchase management provider such as RevenueCat to verify entitlement status, unlock paid features, and restore purchases.

Your Information and App Activity

You may provide onboarding answers, profile choices, mission attempts, blocker reasons, notes, reminder preferences, and other app activity. You keep ownership of information you provide, but you allow us to use it as needed to operate, personalize, sync, secure, support, and improve StartSmall.

Do not enter sensitive personal information unless the app specifically asks for it and you are comfortable providing it. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of information you choose to provide.

Using Missions Responsibly

StartSmall missions are intended to be small, respectful, everyday social actions. You are responsible for choosing safe, lawful, and appropriate contexts for any real-world action.

You must respect other people's boundaries, safety, privacy, and right not to engage. Stop a mission if the context becomes unsafe, unwelcome, inappropriate, or uncomfortable for another person.

Acceptable Use Rules

• Do not misuse the service, disrupt the app or backend, or attempt unauthorized access.
• Do not use StartSmall to harass, deceive, stalk, exploit, threaten, or harm other people.
• Do not use the app in a way that violates law, venue rules, school or workplace rules, platform rules, or another person's rights.
• Do not copy, scrape, resell, reverse engineer, or redistribute app content except where permitted by law.
• Do not submit information that you do not have the right to provide.
• Do not interfere with security, authentication, payment, entitlement, or sync systems.

App Content and Availability

StartSmall content, including missions, examples, support notes, progress logic, subscription gates, and app screens, may change over time. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

Some features require network access, compatible Apple devices, a supported iOS version, an active backend service, a valid app session, or an active paid entitlement. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available in every location, language, device, or app version.

Intellectual Property

StartSmall, including its software, app design, text, mission structure, examples, brand assets, graphics, and other content, is owned by NotA Robot OÜ or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

You may use StartSmall only for personal use unless we give written permission for another use.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, retain, and delete information. By using StartSmall, you acknowledge that information will be handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

StartSmall may depend on third-party services such as Apple, App Store, Sign in with Apple, RevenueCat, hosting providers, database providers, and support or email tools. Their services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

We are responsible for StartSmall and our services. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for StartSmall except as required by applicable Apple terms or law.

Disclaimers

StartSmall is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, available, accurate, or suitable for every user or situation.

Social practice outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including your choices, context, safety, local norms, and other people's reactions.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NotA Robot OÜ and its service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, opportunities, subscriptions, or business value.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to StartSmall will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid to us for StartSmall in the 12 months before the claim or EUR 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights, remedies, warranties, or liabilities that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Suspension and Termination

You may stop using StartSmall at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the app, sync service, account, or paid features if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other people, misuse payments or entitlements, or if we discontinue a feature or the service.

After termination, provisions that by their nature should continue will continue, including intellectual property, privacy, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, except that mandatory consumer protection laws of your country or region may also apply where required by law.

If you live in the European Union or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer dispute rules, nothing in these Terms deprives you of those mandatory rights.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or on our website.

If you continue using StartSmall after updated Terms take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
